For example, a magazine about mystery novels will perform better than a general book-themed magazine. People seem to enjoy the type of content these hyper-focused magazines provide.

The articles in the magazine theorize on details of the show, provide interesting pictures or information on the stars and offer opinions on the episodes. In some cases the magazines also focus on the fashion evident in the show and how to recreate the looks.

Digital magazines are also great for freelance writers. Not only can they build a portfolio and resume, but some of these magazines can pay good rates to inexperienced writers, if they know the topic well enough. This gives the world's budding writers a chance to expand their careers, a very difficult feat in this day and age.

Trendy digital magazine niches in 2014 are really showing how the game can be changed in this day and age. For the longest time magazines, even digital ones, were solely focused on the big trends that were sure buys. But now, thanks to the internet, we can now indulge in niche digital magazines - and they're actually making people money.
