Concrete sealers are applications to concrete meant for protection. This helps avoid early corrosion as well as penetration or absorption of water and other air borne chemicals that can affect the longevity of the concrete. After getting the applicable sealant, how this is applied greatly affect the final outcome of the project.

There are different types and brands of sealers in the market today. But more than just the quality or the price of the product, one thing that you also have to consider would be the applicator. Traditionally, you can use mop like structures for applying the sealer. You have the t bar or micro fiber applicators available in the market. But because some sealer cannot be effectively applied by mops, sprays were develop. Concrete sealer sprayer make it easier for application of the solvent.

Although there are still the conventional applicators, like the mop or the rollers, sprays are now the best and the easiest way to apply sealants. We have the airless or high pressure sprays, as well as the pump up or low pressure ones. What to use would depend on the sealant that you have chosen to apply.

Before you decide which one to get, you have to consider the sealer you purchased. Check the resin type it contains. Take note of the percentage of solid contents. And know if you are getting a solvent based or a water based sealant. It is also best to read the instructions from the manufacturers so you will have an idea of what applicator you can use for your sealer.

Airless sprayers works best with most sealers available today. They are good with both water and solvent based sealants, as well as high or low solid contents, as well as different kinds of resin. They provide very controlled application rates, and are advisable if you are doing a large area since it can do large applications in a short time.

However, such good qualities has one downside. This is a costly machine. If this is just for one time use, you might want to check for rentals. Renting may also provide you professional assistance such as for setting up and operating the unit.

The pump up sprayers, or low pressure sprays, on the other hand, are inexpensive compared to their counterpart. This is best used with water based sealants. Solvent based sealers can be used, although it will most likely corrode its parts, which can affect its performance and more likely its lifespan.

They also work best if the solid content is below 35 percent. Make sure you clean the nozzle from time to time to avoid clogging. This pump are inexpensive, however, they have a limited lifespan than the high pressure one.

More importantly, always read and follow the instructions provided by your manufacturer. It is best to follow recommendations and suggestions from the expert. Whatever your sealing project is, do not forget to give importance to quality. No matter how expensive or how complicated a process is, if the quality of the finished product is not good and would not last as it was supposed, then the whole process is wasted.
