Accidents do occur and sometimes when we are least alert. Surviving under such situations often blur the thin line between life and death. It is only after falling in such situations we realize the importance of life but find ourselves helpless to cope with such miseries. This happens due to being less informed about how to handle such emergencies and ignorance in using the adequate emergency supplies when it is highly required. Another important cause behind a disaster becoming worse is that either at that time we so not have access to disaster kits or the disaster supplies appear inadequate.

As in an emergency some medical supplies like antibiotic cream, insect repellent and bandages are essentially required, similarly situations may also appear where the use of emergency lighting and heating materials is equally demanded. A layman whose basic idea about a first aid kit is preparing a first aid box with basic medical supplies, may doubt the forget the need for emergency lighting and heating products in a disaster kit.

Most of the time emergency heating supplies and lighting are required in most first aid kits for outside. Most of the time when people use these outside they will know the importance of this and will have solar blankets, solar lighting, and other items that can help them in the event that a disaster strikes at them while they are out in the middle of the woods.

The problem that can arise is not being prepared inside of your home. You could take the hot summer days as a good example. If your home was wrecked by a storm, the chance of being in an area of protection can be difficult. Since that is a possibility you could have issues with all the heat affecting your body. That is when you should know that the solar blankets you have could be used to help keep you cool by deflecting the light of the sun. However, in the middle of the winter these blankets could help you retain a large percentage of your body heat and not have to worry about the cold affecting your decision making process at any point in time. You could also use these in your vehicles as well to help keep them cooler in the middle of summer.

Heating water quickly and pumping it up can be impossible at times without electric. That is when you should know that portable water heaters can help out. These will normally run on batteries, but they need to be recharged at times. However, for some of your heating you could use the hand warmers that are available. These will come in handy at warming your hands, but also are small to fit into the first aid kits that you have. Lighting can be found with shaking flashlights, candles, and other sources. However, you should note that if you use the candles you need to ensure that they are kept away from your curtains or other flammable items and that they are provided with ventilation. Most of the time you will notice that these are emergency supplies that can be overlooked. However, they are designed to be used for any disaster you could encounter, but you need to ensure that the items are ready before the disaster hits.
