Looking back to our history, we know that the people before build houses which has a flat roof. People do this due to the fact this roofing is ultimately cheaper and they dont have sufficient knowledge in building quality ones. Thus, their roofs only last for several years because of its weak foundation and the weather affects it.

But people now found a good way to strengthen the foundation and that is through building foundations in dissimilar forms rather than the flat ones. They often use timber frame trusses which efficiently support roofs. Thus, almost all the roofs today last longer, more durable, and stronger compared to having the flat ones.

These trusses are just frames which undergo the process of kiln drying. The frames are then attached underneath your home covering to create a very good foundation. These frames are commonly installed with a steal nail plate to make your truss efficiently strong. But the creation of frames will surely depend on your house construction needs and the type of design you definitely want to have.

All of it is made accurately to fit your home so it will have good strength. From its size, angling, and installation, you can ensure all of it is accurate making your roof part ready and can withstand any types of weather. With that, here are several things that strengthen and weaken a truss.

The very first thing is its making. The timber has to be lightweight without compromising its strength. Often, manufacturers do the kiln drying process which is very effective in making your home covering durable and effectively useable for so many years. After doing the process, manufacturers will then grade the strength of the timber with a certain device.

All the truss frames are designed specifically for your house, thus any changes could really blow off its durability. Any changes made no matter how small or big the change is it can still contribute to the weakening of your whole house covering area. Whenever you see any changes, directly contact the structural engineer who worked for its installation. If you change the thing on your own, your entire wood will surely collapse.

Also, the installation of the wood must be installed and be checked by the engineer as well. Any changes of its peg, screws, or bolts will decrease its installation strength. Thus, this could be a new reason why you always end up getting a collapsed home covering, an additional problem for you.

Even though the trusses are really reliable, you still have to watch out for anything which can cause failure. There are no doubts things could still go wrong in long run most especially with the weather types it already withstood. Thus, failures can definitely happen anytime in your house and to prevent it is by doing inspection.

If the timber is often exposed to damp, this may also contribute to strength decrease. Though you have treated all you truss already, the damp may still affect the timber. You also need to check natural rotting and the natural decaying of the timber or any insect damaged parts. This frequently happens to those old establishments because the ends of the woods are supported by the stone walls.
