Coffee is among the most popular drinks in the world. It acts as a stimulator that assists people to keep awake and alert during any time of the day. There have however, been researches that have highlighted the negative effects of the drink. This has increased the number of people who are looking for healthy coffee substitute. Consequently, a higher intake of caffeine raises the levels of stress hence altering the normal functioning of the body.

In the early eighties, coffee was substituted by Postum. This was because the product did not have caffeine which meant that it was healthy and would not affect normal body functioning. It is a combination of bran wheat and molasses. Collectively, the three components provide the body with energy. Consumption of the drink was very popular in the American society because of the refreshing taste and its health benefits.

Postum is another substitute manufactured in the early 1895. The product is a mixture of molasses, wheat, and bran. Postum, unlike the rest of the drinks has no caffeine but is rich in carbohydrates. The composition of the product builds your health and provides a relaxing experience.

Coffee is addictive and has numerous side effects. This is because of the high composition of caffeine in the product, which has negative effects on the health of your body. Each time you take the drink, increases the probability of you suffering from numerous medical problems. To avoid these challenges, avoid regular consumption of coffee. The product has refreshing and stimulating effect, which are necessary for the normal functioning of the body. You can however use tea and postum as substitutes since they are healthy and have the same refreshing and stimulating effects.
