Realizing the importance of connecting people and places when there is the hindrance by water, the needful structures were constructed. What started as a chopped tree or plank across the river or stream revolutionized to the great and advanced bridges you see today. Despite these structures having many advantages, they can cause many lives to get lost when they collapse. Consequently, bridge replacement Houston has to take place as soon as possible for transport to continue as usual.

The collapse is as a result of deterioration, improper design, lack of maintenance, earthquakes, accidents, typhoon, fire, and floods. These are the major factors causing either total or partial collapse, but they are not necessarily the only ones. Before the process of construction occurs, engineers, construction workers, managers and all the other personnel undergo intensive selection procedure before being offered the work. This is to ensure the proper construction, completion and smooth running of the project takes place.

There is nothing as caring as nature. However, there are cases when it works a toll on humans by catastrophes. When floods and strong winds happen, they blow large debris like boulders and heavy metals, which incessantly pound the walls and foundations and gradually weaken it. A repetition of this leads to a whole weakened and falling structure.

When an earthquake occurs with some significant magnitude, the foundation and piers are weakened. Vehicles move in different directions due to a fracture on the deck while hitting tower and cables causing them to fall and eventually the whole bridge collapses The weakening may cause immediate fall or take several years for damage to occur

Not every place has the same terrain and landscape. There are some which are very difficult to construct any structure on, especially bridges. However, with the advancement of the day in technology, there is no limitation as to how far engineers can go in building and construction. In the past, many bridges collapsed during the process of construction or soon after completion due to factors that could have been avoided

During construction, materials are chosen matters significantly. Stone is most reliable but very expensive. It is the reason why most bridges are not wholly made up of it. Steel and timber are also used but are less fire resistant in the event of an enormous explosion as they melt away when in contact.

Engineers should put in more time and effort in the design of the structures since a faulty one may risk the lives of thousands. Structural materials used also contribute to its durability. Poor quality products or insufficient amounts can lead to a collapse due to wear and tear by traffic. Even if precautions are taken, poor maintenance can still be an effect since it will deteriorate fast and collapse at an unexpected moment. Laws enacted should be adhered to by both the constructors and users.

In conclusion, when there is adequate preparation for a catastrophic event, the tragic effects that follow can profoundly reduce. Some disasters cannot be avoided all we can do is just to wait for them to occur. Whenever there is a collapse, people on either side are stranded, and in the process, their daily lives are affected which is a huge setback. Laws enacted on construction should be adhered to for the safety of everyone involved.
