The holidays bring out the creative side in many people. Those who would never think to attempt arts and crafts projects at any other time buy idea books, gather supplies, and heat up the glue gun. Not everything works out the way it's supposed to, but creating holiday wreaths Lawrence Kansas homeowners are proud to display are some of the easiest projects you can do.

If you hate to throw away magazines because they have articles or recipes you think you might need, you can create a magazine wreath without purchasing many supplies. This project will require you to cut squares from those magazines you've been saving though. This isn't a hard project, but it is time consuming. Cutting the squares can be done while you're watching television or the kids.

Old greeting cards can get stacked up too. Instead of throwing them out, you could make a wreath out of them using a stencil to cut the holly leaf design. You just have to glue the cut out holly to a wreath form, add a ribbon, and your project is complete.

Instead of donating your dad's or husband's old neckties, you can make a wreath out of them that will have your friends wondering why they didn't think of it. You have to cut them up though, so you should probably make sure they aren't something that might be worn again. The bow on the top is the only necktie you will leave intact.

An interesting idea for a kitchen wreath, that is interesting, attractive, and practical, is one made primarily of tea bags. If you love hot tea and collect different varieties, you can create a holiday decoration using the bags and some clothes pins. Once you're finished you and your guests will have tea choices hanging on your wall. Simply replenish the wreath as bags are used.

Another wreath that is a great addition to your kitchen is one made out of star shaped cookie cutters. You'll need a dozen cookie cutters, some tie twists and paper clip. You clip the cookie cutters together and secure them with the ties. Adding a small pine or holly bough and hanging it by a ribbon is all that's left to do.

For wine lovers, a cork wreath is the perfect addition to your dining room wall or as a focal point hanging over your bar. All you need are corks, small green or red jingle bells, and some wire. Punching the holes in the corks to thread the wire is the only hard part. Alternate the bells and the corks as you string. This wreath is sure to generate a conversation.

You can spend a lot of money on custom made wreaths, or you can create them yourself. Not only will you save money, but you will impress your friends and family. You will also have a holiday decoration that expresses your own creativity and taste.
