Since the beginning of mankind, humanity has been fascinated by all the things that surround them. Whether it is the great source of nature that surrounds each one with a different sight and sound or the various different animals that is seen in the vast wilderness of forest old, the love of the unknown has driven humanity to bigger and newer heights.

But the biggest thing that enthralled the imagination of humans, are those animals that take flight in the wide blue sky. For centuries, humanity has looked upon birds with great awe and wonder. The beings were not held by anything and were considered as the freest animal that is known. Of course, human beings invented the airplane and sectional flights but it began somewhere.

The fascination with birds and their wings have birth to many different stories in lots of different cultures around the world. In many places, the ownership of wings meant that a being was not of this world, as wings had symbolized the divine and the freedom that men in the ancient world had wished to possess for themselves.

The classical period of Athens had seen the innovation of the future for flight. In this famous city, a man had created a device that was said to be capable to flight. The device was shaped oddly and had big wings of each side of it that emulated the shape of an Avian. When it was tested, it had proved to be successful as it was able to maintain its flight.

Since then, there have been serious efforts in creating a device that will elevate a person to fly. As such, an attempt to create wings was made in the form of a glider. Several inventors had created their own versions of gliders over time but there very serious problems with. The biggest one was that it had no proper landing system and injured those who tried.

Very kinds of developments were made in the next few centuries. As of the 18th, a new idea had popped into the head of innovators. Because the gilder had proved to unsafe and unreliable, many decided to make a new design based on a person riding the machine instead of using it for gliding.

Things were further developed at the middle of 19th century. The inventor from France had made several new improvements on Gliders that were considered as dangerous and outdated by that time. The new one was now powered by a horse that pulled it along, thus gaining the speed to get to it fly. This sort of system became a test bed for what people have today.

Many other types of models were made during the timelines. Most of them had very bad issues and could not fly safely and was scraped during the testing period. The Wright brothers were the first people to make a successful modern airplane that worked.

The possibilities of flight are endless. The effect of it is huge for the entire world as it is know the main mode of travel is one is going to another continent or location that is far away. Thanks to it, man is able to travel where they happen to please.
