The need to produce and deliver with efficiency and dispatch is at an all time high these days. To answer to this demand, there are various mechanisms and devices available that aim to streamline and simplify work. Among these are Screw Conveyors.

This apparatus contains a helical screw contraption inside its tube that is used to transfer or move materials. The materials may be dry or not, and free flowing or not. The conveyor is used to assist in automated or semi automated manufacturing procedures.

This equipment is used in a wide range of industries and applications. Examples are in petroleum mining, pharmaceuticals, construction, food processing, and agriculture. The machine may be used in conveying cement, saw dust, wood chips, chemicals, paper pulp, salt, sugar, flour, cereals, coffee grains, cotton seeds, feeds, and many more.

The mechanism behind the screw conveyor is concomitant with that of the Archimedes principle. When a revolving spiral is correctly positioned inside the cylinder, it can move water or other some such substance in a specified direction. Additionally, every time the screw rotates, it lets in new material into the tube and repeats the action.

The materials used in making this contraption are preferably aluminum, stainless steel, and other durable and corrosion resistant alloys. All the better when coated with thermoplastic resin because it is a remarkably resistant material that withstands high temperatures and severe corrosion. The various components include the screw blade, shaft, bearing seat, hanger bearing, driven device, and casing.

Conveyors offer sundry advantages. They greatly streamline the operations of your site. They are also cost effective and inexpensive to purchase and maintain. They can also be customized as per the customers specifications. For example, they can be reconfigured or made portable, or else added with supplemental attachments like discharge hoses.

There are four types of conveyors. The most widely used is the Horizontal Conveyor, which is used to convey materials from one part of a process to another. Inclined ones are angled at forty five degrees. With this type, conveying efficiency is reduced and horsepower requirements increase. The Shaftless type is meant to be used for bulk materials with high moisture content because it has a non clogging surface that improves conveying efficiency. The vertical is ideal for handling dry to semi fluid substances.

The conveyors diameter, trough loading, and speed will ultimately be the determining factors of its capacity. There are also other considerations to keep in mind, like the application, the load volume, the frequency and extremity of use. You must also do a material analysis, such as on the viscosity, size, abrasiveness, and moisture content. Also take into account the performance, power, duty cycle, and longevity of the equipment. Preferably, the must be able to function even with heavy duty applications in a demanding environment.

Your equipment may either make or break the operations of your company. There are all the factors to take into consideration. In the end, the efficiency of the job will still depend on choosing the suitable conveyor.
