Many countries would develop war machines and equipment to protect the citizens. One ideal example is the USS Kinkaid, named after a certain admiral. This destroyer was launched in 1974, was decommissioned in the year 2003 and sunk the year after. Roughly twenty five construction workers were evacuated by this ship.

The workers who were tasked on constructing naval base were then sent to an island. It was when crews were given an award for their exemplary and amazing humanitarian effort to save a lot of people. Ten years later, the Kinkaid and other registered freighter involved in a collision which results to 15 casualties and one death to ship, causing a hefty cost of damage fees. She also took port in the land of Singapore and the Philippines where she receives temporary repair, then received permanent treatment to San Diego.

She also made visits to certain islands before she was given an assignment to become part of a Destroyer Squadron, conducting at least 2 months of regular operations under joint task force. It was in 1993 that she returned to San Diego. A lot happened to Kinkaid as part of a battle group to different seas. She even spent a lot of time in Western Pacific.

The battle group by which she get involved took part in a variety of exercises that are done in certain areas in Japan. A lot of services were made to further improve the ground combat, support and even aviation operations as well. The group conducted different exercises lots of states involved and she also appeared to support a mission too.

On 1995 of June, Kinkaid underwent a period of overhaul. Due to the reorganization of the squadrons and the groups, she was completely reassigned to squadron 21. On the same year, the reorganization was finished, with changes that are done within the next year. She get even invited to get involved in joint force that is conducted in southern of California that also involved Japan units.

In addition to 2 more ships, Kinkaid aid in operations that involved intercepting maritime activities. She even escorted a merchant ship full of civilians through a simulation. From a 6 month deployment to the Persian Gulf, she then returned on the February of 1998. During the deployment phase, she helped enforce different maritime operations and activities.

She saved a merchant vessel and after 7 hours of battling floods and ventilation below the decks, Kinkaid rescue team was able to effectively return the vessel to the right degree, enabling it to sail in the Bahrain the following Monday morning to receive the necessary repairs. Along with the group of carrier ships, they have managed to provide many humanitarian supports. This has made a difference on the lives of people.

Kinkaid was then involved on a sea swap activity by which its a form of test to determine whether the deployed ships are effective for 18 months while the crews are also swapped at particular interval. The crews gained experience, apparently. This features opportunities for experts to hone their skills.

She was then decommissioned on January 2003. She got stricken on 2004 and sunk the same year during a specific exercise in the Pacific Ocean. Still, she was able to make a significant history in the maritime industry.
